Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American actor, singer, and model. Her most famous work is the main character in Prince's 1984 Purple Rain film and lead singer of the girl group Apollonia 6 Apollonia was named an actress and female singer by Prince. The 1980s were a time of change for her she was among numerous artists who benefited from Prince. Patricia Kotero began her acting and modeling career in Santa Monica California, in the late '70s. This included an appearance on CHiPS. The female lead of Prince's Purple Rain was her first performance from the year 1984. Prince changed the girl's name during this time. She replaced Vanity with the female duo Vanity 6 who performed in the movie as Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity. Sex Shooter, a minor-hit song from the soundtrack was her biggest chart success. Kotero ended her relationship with Prince when they fell out about the fate of Apollonia 6. The actress appeared in several tiny films, such as Purple Rain's sequel Under the Cherry Moon (which she declined), and then landed the role of Falcon Crest on the Night-Time drama Falcon Crest from 1985-1986. Apollonia could finally launch her debut album in the year 1988. However, the album failed to leave a lasting impression on fans of music and was soon obliterated from the scene. The actress continued acting (if somewhat under the radar) in the next decade. Her small TV roles small films and exercise videos kept her busy. Apollonia produced a Spanish/English bilingual album called Stay with Me. Later, she returned to school and earned the degree of filmmaker. Then, she started her own production company.
