Cynthia Ann Crawford, born February 20, 1966 was an American actress, model and television personality. In the 80s and 90s, she was a supermodel of renown who was prominent in magazines and runways and also in fashion advertisements. In the following years she diversified her acting and ventures into business. The sophomore year of high school, she received the phone number of an apparel shop in the area about modeling work. Later, she discovered the call was made as a prank by two of the classmates. Crawford was among the high school girls employed by another store, who also had a fashion shoot. In her senior year, local photographer Roger Legel, whose duties included capturing a different college student to be that week's coed for the DeKalb Nite Weekly, asked to photograph Crawford for the publication; the result was her first ever cover. The positive feedback and the picture led her to begin modeling. She began working for a tiny agency. Elite Model Management sold her to the agency just after she signed. In 1983, she participated in Elite's Look of the Year contest aged 17 and reached the national finals.
